Ask questions and compare notes on connecting to AutoDealer.io: its API or MCP server, authentication, data access, and anything that tripped you up. Answers here are public, so the next builder benefits too.
Auth: you sign in on AutoDealer.io and approve a consent page; the app gets a token, never your password. Each connection reads with that person’s role, so a salesperson’s connection can’t see the loan book or floor plan.
Tools: the same ones their built-in assistant uses: inventory and imports, leads, customers, deals, tasks, appointments, communications, inbox, title work, compliance, in-house financing, floor plan, reports, website and reviews. Answers cite the source records.
Writes: off by default. If you tick “prepare changes for my approval”, the app gets propose tools and each change lands as an approval card (assistant page or Telegram) that a person approves. The app never applies a change or contacts a customer itself.
Gotchas: switching the assistant off under Settings > AI assistant stops every connected app; connections lapse after 30 days unused; a password change or sign-out-everywhere ends all connections; connections made before the propose permission existed stay read-only until you reconnect.
